Swedru All Blacks continued their impressive home form with a 2-0 victory over Karela United in their Ghana Premier League Matchday 7 clash at the Swedru Stadium on Sunday.
Eric Wiafe Darkwah opened the scoring with an audacious Panenka penalty, calmly chipping the ball past the goalkeeper to give the hosts the advantage in the 10th minute.
All Blacks doubled their lead on the hour mark through Faisal Charwetey, who finished off a move created by Wiafe to seal the victory and secure another valuable three points for the home side.
The result extends All Blacks’ winning run to two matches after their memorable 1-0 victory over Asante Kotoko last weekend, when a stoppage-time goal secured their second win of the campaign.
They entered Sunday’s fixture unbeaten at home, having recorded two wins and a draw in their first three league matches at the Swedru Stadium.
The victory also strengthens the club’s position after an inconsistent start to the season, which included a draw against FC Samartex and defeats to Aduana FC and Basake Holy Stars.
For Karela United, the defeat is a setback after they returned to winning ways with a 1-0 home victory over Dreams FC in their previous league outing. Their struggles on the road continued, having lost their earlier away fixtures against Aduana FC and Asante Kotoko.
All Blacks will look to carry their momentum into their next fixture, while Karela must regroup as they seek improved results away from home.
