Ahead of his formal coronation as Da Amakiri Tubo, Alhaji Mujahid Abubakr Dokubo-Asari, Dabaye-Amakiri I and Amanyanabo, has visited the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, to extend an invitation to his forthcoming coronation ceremony.
According to a statement from Dokubo-Asari’s media office, the visit to the Sultan’s palace demonstrated brotherhood, mutual respect and unity among traditional institutions.
The statement said the warm reception and exchange of pleasantries between the two traditional leaders underscored the importance of maintaining relationships that promote peace, unity and responsible leadership across Nigeria.
Dokubo-Asari was accompanied on the visit by Alabo Prince Tonye Princewill, the Polo’Dabo of Da Ogo and Paramount Head of Da Ogo Group of Houses, alongside other dignitaries.
During the visit, the Amanyanabo presented a Leadership Award to the Sultan in recognition of his leadership and commitment to peace, unity and responsible traditional stewardship.
He also formally invited the Sultan to the Se Diye coronation ceremony scheduled for December 19, 2026.
In his response, the Sultan expressed appreciation for the visit, the award and the invitation. He also conveyed his goodwill towards the forthcoming ceremony and expressed his intention to attend, God willing.
The statement said the Sultan’s response highlighted the importance of strengthening relationships among traditional rulers and building bridges across communities.
“Moments such as this remind us that true leadership goes beyond titles, palaces and positions; it is about relationships, respect, service and the ability to build bridges across communities and cultures,” the statement said.
“When traditional institutions come together in an atmosphere of peace and mutual understanding, the message resonates far beyond the walls of the palace.”
