After three and a half months on the sidelines, Satiar Shah is back in the game.
The popular Vancouver Canucks analyst has a new gig, following the fall of Sportsnet 650 in July.
The Sat Shah Show debuts on Monday, Oct. 26. Shah will host live shows on YouTube weekdays at 4 p.m., as well as Canucks post-game shows.
“The same time slot and what you expected from me in the past, that’s what I’ll be doing moving forward,” Shah revealed on social media. “I can’t wait to bring you the content you deserve, the city deserves — Canucks, hockey, and all sports — and I can’t wait to get going.”
Shah joins Sick Media’s growing podcast network.
Sick Media says it’s one of the “fastest-growing sports media companies in North America,” with a community of over seven million followers and “millions” of monthly impressions. The Sat Shah Show is its first Vancouver-centric sports podcast.
“These guys reached out to me day one, when things went down with 650,” Shah said of the company.
Shah also showed appreciation for the support he received from fans, who missed his Canucks analysis the past few months.
“Have to give a big thank you to all of you for messaging me, asking where I’ve been, all the kind words of support. It really got me through the past few months,” he said.
Shah is the latest former Sportsnet 650 host to resurface since Rogers pulled the plug on the all-sports radio station. Mike Halford and Jason Brough brought their popular morning show to Daily Faceoff Vancouver, while Jamie Dodd joined Jeff Paterson as the co-host of Rink Wide Vancouver.
Meanwhile, Brendan Batchelor and Randip Janda have remained on Canucks radio broadcasts, which have moved to Rogers-owned Kiss West Coast on 104.9 FM. They’re joined by former Sportsnet 650 producers Arash Memarzadeh and Dominic Sramaty, who now host intermission panels.
