Well, we now know that Las Vegas quarterback Kirk Cousins had “options” prior to signing with the Raiders.
Why? Because he made it known to his teammates during a pregame speech he gave in a huddle prior to taking on the New England Patriots on Sunday.
“I had options in the offseason,” the Michigan State alumnus screamed into the faces of teammates. “I wanted to play with you guys. You guys have proved me right. Prove me right again!”
Cousins has shown thus far that he, is in fact, made for this team he chose. Before Week 5’s game, he’s thrown 11 touchdown passes and there are whispers that if he continues on this path, he’ll find himself in “the MVP conversation,” NBC Sports suggests.
“Which could result in a 38-year-old quarterback winning his first MVP award, one year after a 37-year-old quarterback (Matthew Stafford) won his first MVP award,” NBC reported.
That doesn’t stop people from reacting to his speech. “Kirk acting like he’s prime Tom Brady,” one person said on X.
And what’s wrong with that?
Cousins has been having himself a season after being released by the Atlanta Falcons in March. Cousins said that before signing on with Las Vegas, he had a "life-giving" FaceTime conversation with Brady, who is a minority owner of the Raiders.

...
"You know me, I'm going to do my homework before I sign somewhere," Cousins said. "So I had a lot of conversations with people here and there with the Raiders' organization. One of those conversations was with Tom. I texted him and asked him to call me when he could. He actually FaceTimed me."
