Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said Russia launched more than 850 Shahed drones against Ukraine from the previous day until 9 a.m. the following morning, with strikes reported across several regions.
Zelenskyy disclosed this in a post on X, saying emergency services, repair crews and rescuers were still working in dozens of cities and communities to deal with the aftermath of the attacks.

“For practically all of yesterday and throughout last night, a massive ‘shahed’ attack was underway. The drones kept coming in waves, and there was not a single hour when our skies were clear of them,” he said.
According to the Ukrainian president, some of the drones were intercepted, but several strikes reached their targets.
“We managed to shoot down some of the ‘shaheds.’ But unfortunately, there were also dozens of hits,” Zelenskyy stated.
He said one of the largest attacks targeted the Kirovohrad region, while strikes were also reported in Kyiv and its surrounding region, Dnipro, Odesa, Rivne, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Poltava and Ivano-Frankivsk.
Zelenskyy said three people were killed in Kropyvnytskyi and three others in the Dnipro region.

The Ukrainian leader accused Russia of deliberately escalating its attacks after receiving sanctions relief and seeing attempts to pressure Ukraine.
“It is obvious that Russia deliberately chose to escalate its attacks after receiving sanctions relief and seeing attempts to pressure Ukraine. Russia exploits every such opportunity and must be held accountable for what it does,” he said.
Zelenskyy called for stronger decisions to end the war and urged Ukraine’s partners to maintain their support, particularly in air defence.
“Ukraine needs steady support, above all in defending our skies,” he said.

He also urged partners to take a clear position on the conflict, calling for “HONESTY” about the war.
“It is important that everyone in America stand not with the aggressor, but with our efforts to protect lives, end this war, and guarantee security,” Zelenskyy added.
