NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said recently that he would welcome an investigation into the Philadelphia Eagles' handling of quarterback Jalen Hurts leading up to his blood clots diagnosis.
The NFL and NFLPA released a joint statement on Sunday morning, saying that they were indeed beginning to look more closely at the situation.
It was reported last week that the NFL had looked into the matter and the league believed that the Eagles handled things "appropriately."
Philadelphia lost its third consecutive contest in Week 5, falling to the Jacksonville Jaguars, 19-17, on Oct. 11 at Tottenham Stadium in London.
Hurts played the entire game, going 21-for-40 with 220 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions.

The Eagles said four days later that the former Super Bowl MVP had undergone an ultrasound one day before the London game (which revealed a blood clot in his calf), but doctors determined that he could safely play versus the Jaguars.
It was then reported last Monday that Hurts would miss the rest of the campaign after doctors discovered multiple blood clots in his lung.
Former sixth-round pick Tanner McKee has replaced the three-time Pro Bowler in the starting lineup and went 26-for-45 with 215 passing yards, one touchdown and no interceptions during Philadelphia's 25-14 loss against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.
The Eagles will look to snap their four-game skid when they host the Dallas Cowboys on "Monday Night Football" in Week 7.
