Forestry Corporation staff affected by reforms creating a 475,000-hectare koala reserve can join a revitalised parks and wildlife team.
The NSW government has put in place arrangements to transition staff whose roles will be affected by laws that passed through parliament last week.
The reforms, which add 178,000 hectares of state forest and other Crown land to the national parks estate, have cleared the way for the Great Koala National Park to open by the end of 2026.
The reserve will be home to about 12,000 koalas and more than 100 other threatened species.
Environment Minister Penny Sharpe said the reforms were designed to protect native animals and ensure future generations could enjoy the forests of the NSW mid north coast.
