THE Cebuana Lhuillier (CL) Gems emerged as the early title favorites in the Pickle Yard Conference League (PYCL) Season 2 after drafting a pair of talented rookies in Fil-Aussie Crystal Mildwaters and Aaron Johnson.
Ms. Mildwaters was picked first overall while Mr. Johnson, an Australian national champion, was tabbed in the second round.
“We are proud of the team we have assembled for Season 2 of the PYCL. Securing top talents like Crystal Mildwaters and Aaron Johnson, alongside a strong supporting cast of experienced and accomplished players, gives us great reason to be optimistic,” said Cebuana Lhuillier President and Chief Executive Officer Jean Henri Lhuillier.
“At Cebuana Lhuillier, we believe in the power of sports to develop not only athletic talent but also discipline, teamwork, and character, compete, and excel,” he added.
The duo will join a loaded roster that included Grace Woo, a consistent podium finisher in the last five months and a multiple gold medal winner in the local circuit, Shyryn Salazar, a member of the national team that copped the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games soft tennis bronze. — Joey Villar
