The actress has had a busy 2026, with 'Dune: Part Three' waiting in the wings for later this year.
Zendaya has joined a new project as her memorable year winds down.
The actress is set to star in an untitled sci-fi movie that filmmaker Alex Garland will direct from his own script for A24. Plot details have not yet been disclosed for the feature that is expected to shoot in 2027.
This movie marks the latest collaboration between Zendaya and A24 following her hit HBO series Euphoria, which counted A24 as a producer, and this year’s feature The Drama. Garland has a long history with A24 that includes Ex Machina, Civil War, Men, Warfare and his forthcoming video game adaptation Elden Ring, set for theatrical release in 2028.
The current year has been filled with notable projects and moments for Zendaya, who co-starred with Tom Holland in Sony Pictures’ summer blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which now stands as the highest-grossing film in domestic box office history. She and Holland, who recently confirmed that they secretly tied the knot, also co-starred in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which became Universal’s highest-grossing release ever and is expected to garner plenty of attention during awards season.
Zendaya starred opposite Robert Pattinson in A24’s spring hit The Drama and can soon be seen reprising her role as Chani in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Three, which Warner Bros. releases theatrically in December. Additionally, she earned an Emmy Award nomination this year for starring as Rue in the third and final season of HBO’s acclaimed Euphoria.
Among the actress’ other forthcoming films, Zendaya is attached to star as late singer Ronnie Spector in Barry Jenkins’ biopic Be My Baby for A24. She will also voice the daughter of Shrek and Princess Fiona in DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek 5, hitting theaters next summer.
