Lotte Global Logistics said on the 15th that it has launched a door-to-door pickup service for users of Mini Warehouse Darak, a self-storage operator.
Customers who want to store belongings apply through the Darak app, and Lotte Global Logistics visits the location they designate, collects the items and transports them to a Darak storage site. Darak handles inspection, internal movement, storage and management once the goods arrive. Items must be able to be packed in standard parcel boxes.
Lotte Global Logistics said it developed the partnership to spare Darak customers the trouble of hauling their belongings to storage sites themselves. Darak has about 130,000 cumulative members and operates 250 sites nationwide, offering a service that keeps personal belongings in separate storage space.
An official at Lotte Global Logistics said the partnership is significant because it connects the company's logistics service directly to a consumer platform that customers already use, securing a new point of contact for its services.
