The National Local Government Finance Committee (NLGFC) has said it will scrutinise Constituency Development Fund (CDF) project costs following concerns over wide disparities in construction estimates, with some projects costing more than three times previous estimates for similar works.
The concerns emerged before Parliament’s Public Accounts Committee (Pac), which heard that infrastructure projects previously estimated at K400 million under the Governance to Enable Service Delivery (Gesd) programme are now costing about K1.5 billion under CDF.
