Luka Doncic has officially embraced his role as the new leader of the Los Angeles Lakers, and with it comes a new chapter in one of the NBA's fiercest rivalries. The Slovenian made that crystal clear against Golden State Warriors newcomer Yaxel Lendeborg, drilling a jaw-dropping halfcourt buzzer-beater before exchanging heated words with the rookie.
Doncic delivered one of the night's signature moments by burying a shot from beyond halfcourt just before the halftime buzzer. As soon as the ball splashed through the net, he turned toward Lendeborg and let him hear it, adding even more fuel to an already fiery matchup.

The tension between the two had been building from the opening tip. Doncic and Lendeborg battled for position, embraced physical play early, and quickly began trading trash talk as their on-court rivalry intensified.
With LeBron James departing in free agency to join the Philadelphia 76ers, Doncic has become the unquestioned face of the Lakers. Head coach JJ Redick has also made it clear that the team's offense now revolves around the five-time All-Star.
Doncic backed up the hype with a dominant first half, pouring in 23 points in just 18 minutes to help Los Angeles build a 66-52 lead at Crypto.com Arena.
He wasn't finished. In the third quarter, Doncic added another highlight to his reel with a dazzling behind-the-back pass that evoked memories of Earvin "Magic" Johnson, setting up a thunderous dunk.
The Lakers are determined to usher in a new era after James' departure. Following a 53-29 campaign last season, all eyes are on Doncic as he looks to establish himself as the franchise's undisputed superstar—and prove he's ready to carry one of basketball's most iconic organizations into its next chapter.
