The move from Mississippi to Louisiana has been more than enough for LSU head coach Lane Kiffin and his family to document. In the midst of that major move, Lane's son Knox had to transfer to a new school for his junior year.
Knox enrolled at University Lab in Baton Rouge and immediately found success. On Friday night, the younger Kiffin was at his best and showed why numerous Power Four programs, aside from where his dad coaches, have shown interest.
In a 58-30 win over previously unbeaten West Feliciana (LA), Knox accounted for five total touchdowns. However, not all of them were through the air. The others weren't all on the ground, either.
In addition to his three passing touchdowns, Knox also scored a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown in a win that was much closer than the final score suggested.
Leading by seven in the fourth quarter and facing a fourth-and-nine from the West Feliciana 28-yard line, Knox lofted a deep pass to Kevin Smith Jr. in the end zone, that was hauled it in for a touchdown.
On the Cubs' next possession, Knox provided the dagger with his legs. Following his blocker from a few yards out, he completed the touchdown-scoring hat trick to cap off a career night for the rising junior.
With the win, University Lab moves to 6-2 on the season. The Cubs have two regular-season games remaining: they'll travel to Port Allen (LA) on Oct. 30 and host Parkview Baptist (LA) on Nov. 5.
As for his dad and the Tigers, LSU hits the road for a huge SEC showdown with Auburn. Kickoff for that game is at 11 a.m. CT.
