When the Jaguars selected Travis Hunter in the 2025 NFL Draft, Sunday's performance was the kind they were likely envisioning.
Ultimately, Jacksonville lost 34-31 on a last-second field goal against the Texans in London, unable to complete a comeback despite Trevor Lawrence's four touchdown passes. But if there was any reason for the Jaguars to be encouraged, it was the performance of their two-way star.
Hunter had his most dynamic showing yet as a two-way player, not just picking off a pass, but breaking tackles left and right to make some NFL history.
Here's a look at Hunter's dominant performance against the Texans.

Travis Hunter makes two-way history with performance vs. Texans
The Jaguars have shown hesitancy to let Hunter fully loose as a two-way player over the last two seasons. So far in 2026, he's leaned far heavier on the defensive side of the ball, functioning well as a starting cornerback for Jacksonville.
In London against the Texans, Hunter took things to another level. It became evident early on that he would be running some additional routes, and in the fourth quarter, he cut the Jaguars' deficit to one score by catching a pass from Lawrence in the middle of the field for a touchdown.
Hunter finished with four catches for 59 yards and a touchdown, which was his second in the NFL.

Not long after, Hunter was back on defense, completing a feat last seen when he was a Heisman candidate at Colorado: he added an interception on a day he scored a touchdown.
Hunter's pick on C.J. Stroud in the end zone kept Jacksonville's comeback threat alive.

Only three players in NFL history have caught a touchdown pass and logged an interception in the same game over the last 40 years, according to PFF. One of them was in the playoffs:
- 2026 Travis Hunter
- 2002 Brian Dawkins
- 1999 Keshawn Johnson (playoffs)
Hunter was the first player since Dawkins in 2002 to accomplish the feat — and it came on consecutive drives.
It may not have resulted in a win, but if it wasn't for Hunter's two-way capabilities on Sunday, Jacksonville wouldn't have been in the game at all.
