Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and the Pakistan Horticulture Development and Export Company (PHDEC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to train horticulture exporters and processors in using digital trade systems.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will conduct training sessions, webinars, and workshops covering PSW registration, system usage, documentation, and regulatory requirements. The programs will link these processes to the daily export operations of horticulture businesses. PHDEC, a government-owned entity under the Ministry of Commerce, will lead sector engagement.
A key objective is to enable exporters to manage their PSW registrations and trade processes independently. The initiatives will also cover data protection and privacy to help businesses retain control over sensitive commercial information.
PSW CEO Syed Aftab Haider said the impact of digital infrastructure depends on how effectively businesses can use it. He said the partnership connects PSW’s trade facilitation capabilities with the needs of the horticulture sector and aims to make digitalization a practical enabler of export readiness and competitiveness.
PHDEC CEO Muhammad Naseer said preparing horticulture businesses for international markets requires a strong understanding of export processes. He said the partnership brings together sector expertise and digital trade knowledge to help exporters and processors address operational challenges with greater confidence.
The collaboration will also provide a structured channel to identify sector-specific barriers to digital adoption and develop coordinated responses. Both institutions will offer guidance on PSW-related operational issues and explore information sharing in line with PSW’s Trade Data Sharing & Exchange Policy.
Joint working groups with equal representation from both institutions will coordinate implementation, monitor progress, and periodically assess outcomes.
