A Mexican judge has sentenced three men convicted of murdering Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson and their US friend Carter Rhoad to 158 years and nine months in jail each.
The three killed the victims in an apparent botched robbery of their truck on a secluded beach in Baja California in 2024 while they were on a surfing trip (BBC).
A court found Jesus “El Kekas” Giraldo, Irineo Francisco and Angel Jesus guilty last week of aggravated homicide, aggravated robbery, violent robbery and violent vehicle theft (Nine).
“No sentence, no matter how long, will ever bring our beautiful boys back or undo the devastating loss suffered by their family and friends,” said parents Martin and Debra Robinson on Saturday (Nine).
“We take comfort in knowing that these men will be removed from society and will never have the opportunity to inflict this kind of unimaginable pain and suffering on other families” (Nine).
