Australian radio personality Kyle Sandilands is facing a legal dispute over an alleged $240,000 renovation bill at his multimillion-dollar mansion in Glenorie, north-west Sydney.
Construction company Alter Build Co, run by Andrew Kabourakis and William Teixeira, has launched civil proceedings against Sandilands over money it claims remains outstanding for renovation work at the property.
The dispute centres on the cost of the renovations, with the builders seeking payment while Sandilands has reportedly challenged additional charges that he says exceeded his agreed budget.
Dispute Over $1 Million Renovation Budget
According to media reports, the renovation project began in 2025 and included work on the mansion’s kitchen, bathroom and laundry.
Sandilands reportedly maintains that the cost of the work went beyond his $1 million budget without his approval. He has sought documentation to substantiate the additional charges and has indicated that he would pay amounts established to be owed.
The legal proceedings will determine the competing claims. The construction company’s allegations have not been established in court, and the dispute should not be taken as a finding that Sandilands is liable for the amount claimed.
Inside Sandilands’ Glenorie Property
Sandilands purchased the property in 2022 for approximately $3 million. The residence sits on a block of around 9,580 square metres and reportedly features eight bedrooms and five bathrooms.
The property underwent an extensive refurbishment, with Sandilands previously comparing the home to Graceland, the former Memphis estate of Elvis Presley.
The mansion has also been listed for sale, adding another dimension to the dispute surrounding the property.
The case is reportedly scheduled to return to court on October 23, 2026.
The proceedings are ongoing, and the court will need to determine the issues between the parties based on the evidence presented.
Sandilands’ New Subscription Show Adds to His Business Reset
The legal dispute comes as Sandilands builds his career beyond commercial radio following his departure from KIIS FM and the end of The Kyle and Jackie O Show.
He launched Kyle Sandilands Live on August 10, 2026, as a subscription-based breakfast program broadcast live on weekdays from 6am to 10am.
The digital show offers audio and video, with Sandilands promoting an uncensored, advertising-free format that allows him to communicate directly with subscribers. The platform also provides full episodes on demand and exclusive content.
An annual subscription is advertised at $99, with membership benefits including competitions, promotions and subscriber-only events. The show experienced technical problems during its launch, including audio interruptions and streaming issues.
Sandilands’ move into subscription media followed a reported $12 million settlement with former employer ARN Media over the termination of his contract. Under the reported settlement arrangements, ARN also agreed to provide $1.5 million in advertising for his new venture over three years.
The new platform represents a significant shift for the broadcaster, who spent decades building an audience through commercial radio. Its long-term success will depend on retaining paying subscribers while establishing a sustainable business outside traditional radio.
