Anyamah had originally been arrested and booked at Kinoo Police Station in Kiambu county before being transferred to Kakamega to face charges linked to the alleged fabrication and sharing of an "AI-generated video" involving Kakamega governor Fernandes Barasa.
Anyamah is a digital creator and a known supporter of the Linda Mwananchi Movement.
Malala claims responsibility for the posts
Addressing those present at the station, Malala insisted he was the one who had authored the disputed Facebook posts and shared the accompanying images and video, not Anyamah.
"If you want who posted Barasa, then it is me. It is me who posted. Why are you arresting him? The problem is, it is me who wrote these things on Facebook and even shared pictures. I have even brought you a video here. Why are you arresting someone who commented on them?" Malala asked.
He further challenged the authorities over what he described as undue influence from the county government, alleging that officers from the County Criminal Investigations Office had been compromised.
"We want to understand why you are arresting our people. Barasa says you are all on his county payroll. CCIO have eaten enough money from the governor, and if he has no money, he can tell us to pay him," he added.
Bail set at KSh 50,000 for Anyamah
Vihiga senator Godfrey Osotsi indicated that Anyamah was to be released on a KSh 50,000 cash bail, following his arrest on Sunday, October 11.

The leaders present at the station said they had paid Anyamah's cash bail and were pushing for his immediate release, though footage from inside the station showed a tense and disorderly scene as the group was eventually removed from the premises.
Anyama's arrest had caused fear and panic among his family members, friends, and colleagues.
