Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will win massively in the 2027 general elections.
Bello stated this while speaking on TVC’s Politics on Sunday, hosted by Femi Akande, where he discussed the major political contenders, including President Bola Tinubu, former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi.
He said he respected Atiku for his contributions to the country but questioned his integrity and loyalty over defections to and from different political parties.
“Personally and majority of us respect Atiku, for what he has done for the country, but look at the antecedents, parameters, indices, the three major candidates, Tinubu, Atiku, Obi,” Bello said.
He argued that frequent changes in party affiliation could weaken a politician’s support base, stressing the importance of consistency in political organisations.

“Atiku has left several political parties, unsettled, if you are not consistent in a political party, you lose followership,” he said.
Bello added that Nigeria needed political stability and strong party structures, noting that some politicians had remained members of their parties for decades.
“There are people who are in a party for decades, Nigerians need stability and political structure,” he said.
