Longtime Linux kernel engineer Darrick Wong who stepped down as the XFS file-system maintainer in 2023 is now taking a step back from his other Linux kernel development roles after working on the kernel the past 23 years.
In a commit merged today to the Linux Git tree for Linux 7.3, Darrick Wong removes himself as a code reviewer for the IOmap file-system code. He commented in the patch message:
"After 14 years at Oracle and 23 years working on Linux, I've decided to step back for a while."
That was the last of the areas he formally oversaw for Linux kernel development after stepping down from XFS maintainer.
