Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Cameras monitoring traffic violations on dedicated lanes have begun operating along a 2.4-kilometre section of Lutfi Street in Tashkent.
The system monitors lanes designated for public transport, bicycles and other forms of individual mobility. It records vehicles moving, stopping or parking in these lanes in violation of applicable traffic rules.
Fines are issued in accordance with the law for violations involving unauthorised stopping and parking detected by the cameras.
A dedicated “A” lane for public transport has been established along the right-hand side of Lutfi Street. Separate lanes have also been provided for bicycles, electric scooters and other individual mobility devices.
The camera system is being introduced across the capital in stages. Its stated objectives are to give public transport priority, improve road safety and prevent the unauthorised use of designated lanes.
Drivers are reminded to follow road signs and markings, keep bus lanes clear and avoid obstructing cyclists and users of individual mobility devices.
Vehicles parked in these lanes can delay public transport and create additional risks for other road users.
