Aristopharma Limited has honoured nearly 200 doctors who earned their FCPS fellowship from the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in the July 2026 session, recognising their perseverance, professional skills and academic achievement.
The reception was held at the Grand Ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka yesterday (17 October), according to the press release.
Aristopharma Deputy Managing Directors Md Mahboob Hassan and Md Sahid Hassan, Director Sha Ad Umayer Hassan and other senior officials attended the event. The doctors were congratulated and presented with crests recognising their accomplishments.
In his welcome address, Mahboob said achieving the fellowship required years of hard work, discipline and dedication. The qualification reflected the doctors' knowledge, commitment to patient care and determination to continue improving professionally, he added.
"Since 2008, Aristopharma has proudly celebrated the success of newly qualified FCPS doctors. Through this event, we express our respect for the medical community and strengthen our relationship with them," he said.
Mahboob said the fellowship marked the beginning of a new chapter in the doctors' careers, bringing greater responsibilities and an increased obligation to uphold patients' trust.
Aristopharma remained committed to supporting them through quality medicines, updated scientific knowledge and continued scientific engagement, he added.
Congratulating the doctors, Sahid said the fellowship represented both academic excellence and a commitment to serving humanity through medicine.
"As you move forward, remember that alongside your skills and knowledge, you carry your patients' trust and the hope of a healthier society," he said.
He described doctors as important partners in advancing healthcare and said Aristopharma sought to support them with reliable medicines, new scientific knowledge and the necessary scientific assistance.
Sharing his experience, newly qualified fellow Dr Mahbubur Rahman said the long journey towards the fellowship involved sacrifices by doctors and their families, friends and relatives.
Academic demands and professional preparation often meant missing social and family commitments, he said.
"This achievement belongs not only to me or to us, but to everyone," Mahbubur said, acknowledging the contributions of his family and teachers.
Although earning the fellowship brought one chapter to a close, the doctors' real journey was only beginning, he added, expressing his commitment to applying his knowledge and skills for the wider benefit of society.
Dr DM Sohag, who recently earned his fellowship in orthopaedic surgery and works at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, also shared his experience.
He described the reception as a joyful and memorable occasion following his achievement.
While students often had opportunities to celebrate important academic milestones, an event recognising the completion of a specialist postgraduate qualification held particular significance for him, he said.
Referring to Aristopharma's professional links with Dhaka Medical College's orthopaedic surgery department, Sohag noted the company's participation in scientific activities and regular engagement with doctors. He thanked Aristopharma for organising the reception.
Doctors were honoured across a range of specialities, including medicine, obstetrics and gynaecology, surgery, paediatrics, ophthalmology, cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, paediatric cardiology, endocrinology, ear, nose and throat, anaesthesiology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, gynaecological oncology, fetomaternal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, hepatobiliary surgery, radiology, gastroenterology, urology and psychiatry.
Participants expressed their delight after receiving the crests, saying that recognition of their years of hard work provided encouragement for their professional lives.
The reception also offered an opportunity for doctors to celebrate their achievements with colleagues and exchange experiences.
The programme concluded with a raffle draw, with prizes adding to the celebrations.
