The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADCPCC) has condemned the disruption of a rally tagged “Tinubu Must Go” at The Avenue Event Center in Kano.
Reacting on Sunday through its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, the council said the action by the Kano State Police Command affected a peaceful gathering.
The rally was led by Barrister Abba Hikima and organised by youths.
The council said police operatives barricaded the venue and that participants were intimidated, but that the youths insisted on expressing their views.
The ADC-PCC also expressed concern over the reported arrest of the owner of The Avenue Event Center for allegedly allowing the facility to be used for the rally.

The council also called on civil society organisations and human rights groups to monitor developments regarding democratic freedoms.
It commended Barrister Abba Hikima and the youths who participated in the rally for their determination to express their views.
