PUTRAJAYA: Four Health Ministry (MOH) officers who died in a helicopter crash while on duty on Sept 8 have been promoted posthumously in recognition of their service and dedication.
The ministry honoured the healthcare staff who served with the Flying Doctor Service (PDU), whose promotions were approved by the Public Service Promotion Board (LKPPA) on Oct 13.
The board cleared 6,724 officers from various service schemes under the ministry for acting appointments and promotions to the Senior Management Service (JUSA) and Grades 10 to 15, the ministry said in a statement.
The approvals reflect the ministry's continued efforts to recognise officers' commitment, dedication and achievements in ensuring smooth operations and effective healthcare service delivery.
In line with improvements to career progression under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA), the board also approved excellence-based promotion criteria for officers under the ministry's teaching service scheme, allowing them to be promoted without a vacant post.
The approval provides the officers concerned with better opportunities for career advancement.
The ministry expressed confidence that such recognition would encourage continued excellence and strengthen officers' commitment to building a high-quality, sustainable and responsive national healthcare system.
It said it would continue to review and implement improvements to ensure officers' welfare and career development received due attention.
