Chümoukedima, Mon to hold camps on PM Surya Ghar scheme

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): The district administrations of Chümoukedima and Mon, in collaboration with the Department of Power, will organise Seva Setu camps from October 14 to 16 to facilitate public access to the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.In Chümoukedima, the camp will be held at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex, while in Mon, it will take place at the Deputy Commissioner's Office Complex premises.The camp will begin at 10 am and provide on-the-spot registration through the National Scheme Portal, consultations with empanelled solar vendors, assistance with bank loan applications and technical guidance from Power Department officials.Eligible households in Chümoukedima can avail themselves of combined central and state subsidies for rooftop solar installations of up to 3 kW, along with free smart prepaid meters and access to collateral-free bank loans, according to the district administration.Applicants have been advised to bring the original documents and photocopies of their latest electricity bill, proof of identity, proof of ownership or land ownership documents for the residential roof space, bank passbook and two passport-sized photographs.In Mon, the camp will provide information on beneficiary eligibility, application procedures, required documents, rooftop solar installation and vendor-related queries.Deputy Commissioner of Mon Wennyei Konyak has directed the Executive Engineer (Power), Mon Electrical Division, and requested all ward chairmen of Mon town and village council chairmen across the district to publicise the programme in their respective jurisdictions and encourage eligible households to attend.The district administrations have urged eligible residents and other stakeholders to participate in the camps and take advantage of the facilities available under the scheme.
