Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has unveiled new cabin crew uniforms designed by leading Pakistani fashion designer Hassan Sheheryar Yasin, widely known as HSY.
The collection was presented in Lahore on Thursday, 22 October 2026, and is due to make its debut on 31 October 2026, aboard the airline’s first Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner flight from London to Islamabad.
Yasin was selected following a competitive showcase in Karachi, where 10 leading Pakistani designers presented their concepts to a jury of fashion figures and industry representatives.
One of South Asia’s best-known fashion designers, Yasin is renowned for his red-carpet creations and international celebrity clientele.
According to PIA, the collection follows a “lifestyle first” philosophy and is built for long-haul durability and ergonomic movement.
The designs combine soft, breathable fabrics with structured tailoring, while the palette and detailing draw on Pakistan’s cultural craftsmanship.
The launch forms part of the airline’s wider transformation under its new consortium-led management. The collection aims to give the carrier a modern look while reflecting Pakistani culture and hospitality.
“Designing for our national flag carrier is about capturing our collective pride and the genuine warmth of Pakistani hospitality,” Yasin said in a statement shared by PIA.
The airline has a long history of working with prominent designers to shape its cabin crew uniforms.
French designer Pierre Cardin created PIA’s A-line tunic and hood in 1966, while British designer Sir Hardy Amies, who served as royal couturier to Queen Elizabeth II, contributed his tailoring expertise in the 1970s.
More recently, a uniform inspired by Pakistani designer Nomi Ansari remained in use for 12 years.
PIA said passengers would not have to wait long to see the new designs in service, with the collection set to debut later this month.
