President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Kaduna State for the official flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign ahead of the 2027 general election.
The President is expected to join Vice President Kashim Shettima, APC governors, members of the party’s National Working Committee, National Assembly members and other political stakeholders at the Kaduna Township Stadium for the campaign rally.
The event marks the formal commencement of the ruling party’s nationwide presidential campaign as Tinubu seeks re-election for a second term.
Party supporters from across the country are also expected to attend the rally, which is designed to mobilise support for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket and showcase the APC’s readiness for the 2027 presidential contest.
The campaign flag-off provides an opportunity for the President and the party’s leadership to present their achievements, defend the administration’s policies and outline their priorities for the next phase of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Key issues expected to feature in the campaign include economic reforms, infrastructure development, agricultural transformation, national security and efforts to expand employment and economic opportunities for Nigerians.
The APC is also expected to use the rally to strengthen its political base in Kaduna and the wider northern region, where economic conditions, security concerns and the impact of federal policies are likely to feature prominently in the political debate.
The campaign comes as opposition parties intensify preparations for the 2027 election, setting the stage for what is expected to be a keenly contested presidential race.
For the APC, the Kaduna rally represents an early test of its mobilisation capacity and a chance to rally party loyalists around Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The President’s supporters have expressed confidence in the administration’s reform programme, insisting that its policies will deliver greater economic stability and improved living conditions.
However, the campaign will also face scrutiny over the cost of living, job creation, insecurity and the pace at which the benefits of the government’s economic reforms reach ordinary Nigerians.
With the 2027 election approaching, the Kaduna flag-off signals the beginning of a crucial phase in the APC’s efforts to secure another presidential mandate for Tinubu.
