The October Xbox Showcase delivered a packed lineup of upcoming games, with remasters of Shrek 2 and The Wolf Among Us among the biggest announcements. The showcase also offered fresh looks at several new titles, including Zero Parades: Director's Cut, alongside release dates for games arriving later this year and in 2027.
Shrek 2 Remastered will launch on Xbox Series X/S on 10 November, bringing the 2004 film tie-in back with updated graphics, new features and familiar locations inspired by the animated film. The remaster aims to give players another chance to revisit the adventures of the iconic ogre.
Another notable announcement was The Wolf Among Us Remastered, which launches on 29 October. The updated version of Telltale's 2013 narrative adventure features enhanced visuals, improved animation and audio, and a new Noir Mode. It will also include behind-the-scenes material, playable deleted scenes and a redesigned werewolf form for protagonist Bigby Wolf.
Meanwhile, Zero Parades: Director's Cut is set to arrive on Xbox Series X/S and PC on 3 November. Developed by ZA/UM, the espionage role-playing game received a new trailer showcasing its gameplay ahead of its release.
Several original titles also caught the spotlight. Magenta Down, a science-fiction adventure set on a remote exoplanet, challenges players to survive harsh conditions, radiation exposure and scarce supplies. It is scheduled to launch on Xbox Series X/S and PC in 2027.
Croak, a hand-drawn 2D precision platformer, will arrive on PC and Xbox Series X/S in March 2027. Players take control of a frog prince who uses tongue-grappling and pinball-like movement to navigate challenging stages, battle bosses and collect items.
Other upcoming releases include Mr. Records, a music-driven adventure planned for spring 2027, and Chronoscript: The Endless End, an action-adventure game that combines a three-dimensional residence filled with manuscript pages and illustrated two-dimensional worlds. The latter is scheduled for early summer 2027 on Xbox Series X/S and PC, with a PS5 release also planned.
The showcase also featured Love Is A Roguelite, which blends turn-based tactics, deck-building and dating; Drill Keeper, a siege-defence roguelike coming to PC Game Pass in summer 2027; and Waveling Island, a creature-collecting game featuring hand-drawn pixel art.
Among the nearer releases, Scramble Knights Online arrives on 26 October, while A Game About Digging a Hole Together launches on Xbox platforms on 4 December. Paper Shredder, an incremental game centred on destroying office paperwork, is expected in winter 2026.
The remaining announcements included dark fantasy RPG Vanran, narrative RPG Red Kiss, mystery adventure Graytail and Rustown, a story-driven game about surviving in a slum inhabited by infected outcasts. Their releases are scheduled across 2027.
With a mix of nostalgic remasters, experimental indie games and upcoming role-playing adventures, the October showcase offered Xbox players a broad look at what lies ahead.
