Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has publicly challenged President William Ruto to dismiss three Cabinet secretaries he associated with retired president Uhuru Kenyatta, accusing the head of state of political hypocrisy if he fails to act.

Amisi made the remarks in a post on X on Tuesday, October 13, in the context of Ruto's recent public attacks on Uhuru, whom the president has accused of sponsoring opposition activities against his administration.
Amisi names Uhuru's appointees in Cabinet
The Saboti MP identified William Kabogo (Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy), Lee Kinyanjui (Trade), and Mutahi Kagwe (Agriculture) as the three individuals Uhuru reportedly nominated to Ruto's government.
Amisi argued that as long as these three remain in the Cabinet while Ruto publicly condemns Uhuru as a betrayer and political schemer, the president's statements lack credibility.
"Uhuru is allegedly the sponyoo of some #Wantam leaders; So, bwana Ruto unless Uhuru is your secret buddy, fire Uhuru appointees that are in your Cabinet. Otherwise hii ni mchezo wa town," Amisi wrote.
He separately listed the ODM appointees in the same arrangement, naming Cabinet Secretaries Wycliffe Oparanya, Hassan Joho, John Mbadi, and others, noting that ODM had pledged loyalty and would therefore remain in Cabinet.
Amisi invokes 2022 political betrayal
The lawmaker drew a parallel between the 2022 General Election period and the current political climate.
He alleged that Ruto and Uhuru worked together in 2022 to undermine the late former ODM leader Raila Odinga through false pretences and suggested a similar scheme was now being played out against the youth and the "Wantam" political movement.
"In 2022, the two of you played Baba together under false pretense, you are now playing the same trick on Wantam brigade and the youth of this country seeking genuine change," Amisi said.
He concluded with a call for political transformation, stating that Kenya required what he described as a renaissance, and advocating for the PM Party as a vehicle for genuine change.
Ruto calls Uhuru betrayer
Meanwhile, Ruto has in recent weeks intensified his criticism of Uhuru, publicly labelling his predecessor a betrayer and a cheat following Uhuru's failure to back Ruto's 2022 presidential bid despite their pre-election alliance.

Ruto has also accused Uhuru of being the financial backer of figures opposed to his government, a charge that has fuelled fresh tensions within ruling coalition politics.
Opposition leaders have, however, denied the president's claims and demanded a halt to attacks targeting him.
