Central Florida Dreamplex has received a $25,000 grant from the Orlando Magic Youth Foundation. The funding will support the organization’s Orlando Magic Dreamers Competitive Wheelchair Basketball Program, which serves young athletes with physical disabilities in Central Florida.
Established in 2019, the Orlando Magic Dreamers is the first competitive youth wheelchair basketball program in Central Florida. The program expanded into competitive play in 2023 and operates under the National Wheelchair Basketball Association.
The program serves athletes across two divisions within the National Wheelchair Basketball Association. The Prep NIT division is designated for children ages 5 to 13, while the Varsity JNIT division serves players ages 14 to 18.
During the 2025–2026 season, the Dreamers conducted more than 45 structured practices and maintained an athlete attendance rate of more than 90%. The program’s teams also participated in regional tournaments throughout the season.
The Varsity team earned an invitation to the National Wheelchair Basketball Association National Tournament as one of 16 teams selected nationwide. The team finished 14th in the country at the national competition.
Beyond competitive play, the Dreamers program reached more than 1,000 youth and community members. These community outreach efforts included school demonstrations, disability awareness events, and partnership activities with the Orlando Magic.
