Currently, the app allows users to connect their Android phones with Windows computers. They can make phone calls, send messages, view photos and transfer files between the devices. The app also lets users lock their computers remotely.
According to the report, Microsoft is introducing additional power controls in a newer version of Link to Windows. The existing “Lock PC” option is reportedly being replaced by a power button. Tapping it will display options to lock, sleep, shut down or restart the computer.
These controls could make remote computer management more convenient for users. For example, someone who leaves their computer running can potentially shut it down without returning to their desk. The sleep option will also provide another way to manage an idle computer remotely.

However, the app warns users that shutting down or restarting a computer could cause them to lose unsaved data. Users should save their work before selecting any power option. The feature’s availability may depend on the app version and rollout, so users should check for updates before expecting to access the new controls.
