Enzo Maresca has praised Manchester City’s professionalism after they beat Liverpool 3-0 at Anfield on Sunday, despite the club’s 114 alleged breaches of Premier League financial rules.
City showed no sign of distraction by the Premier League financial case, overcoming a hostile Anfield atmosphere to secure a convincing victory against 10-man Liverpool.
Maresca has made an impressive start to his tenure, winning his first eight games in all competitions and moving City three points clear at the top of the Premier League.

However, the club’s financial case remains unresolved, with the potential consequences dependent on the outcome of its appeal against the findings of an independent commission.
“It was not easy for the players after the last two or three weeks, but they dealt with the situation very well,” Maresca said.
“I said during the week we need to learn how to deal with the outside noise, but make our own noise, which is to win games.
“Our fans were singing at the end, so the noise was from us.”
Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki scored within 13 minutes following the dismissal, securing City’s victory in front of the Anfield crowd.
“To win 3-0 at Anfield is a great result for sure. In this moment, all the organisation needs this kind of win,” Maresca added.
“It’s good for us as a coaching staff, the players, the organisation. This kind of win is good for all the club.”
The Man City manager also dismissed suggestions that uncertainty over the financial case would diminish his celebrations, insisting his focus remains on preparing the team and winning matches.
“You cannot imagine how happy I am,” he said.
“I am here to try to prepare for the games and win the games. Hopefully, I can speak about this situation when we win the appeal.”
