Shillong, October 13: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma on Tuesday inaugurated the Meghalayan Age Pavilion opposite Ward’s Lake in Shillong, creating a dedicated space to showcase the state’s traditional crafts, local produce and entrepreneurial ventures.

The pavilion brings together a range of products, including locally produced wines and coffee, Ryndia textiles, traditional handicrafts and innovative food items made using produce sourced from farmers across the state.
Sangma said the Meghalayan Age Limited (MAL) Store would connect farmers, artisans, self-help groups (SHGs) and young entrepreneurs with wider markets, while promoting sustainable livelihoods and offering visitors an authentic experience of Meghalaya.
The initiative seeks to provide greater visibility to locally made products and create opportunities for small businesses and community-based enterprises to reach new customers.
With evening music, food, shopping and cultural experiences, the pavilion is also expected to add a new attraction to Shillong’s tourism landscape, combining local heritage with entrepreneurship and contemporary visitor experiences.
