Frozen yogurt — or froyo — is back. Again.
The trending treat, which sees a swirl of frozen yogurt topped with a variety of fixings and sauces, is seeing a resurgence thanks to social media buzz, the internet’s preoccupation with protein maxxing, and a pinch of Gen Z nostalgia.
Vancouver-headquartered fashion company Aritzia is getting into the froyo revival by launching a “frozen yogurt experience” at its A-OK Café locations.
Called A-YO-K, the menu offers fat-free yogurt that’s billed as boasting 17 grams of protein and probiotics for gut health, topped with a combination of goodies.
Base flavours of the frozen yogurt includes vanilla, strawberry or a swirl of the two. Available toppings include sliced strawberries, nuts, granola and a selection of compotes or syrups. Rather than pay by the weight, which is a popular approach for pick-and-mix froyo spots, the Aritzia offering is a set price of $12.
Available at A-OK Café locations across the U.S. and Canada, the only Aritzia store in B.C. to offer the new A-YO-K experience is the Aritzia Guildford store in Surrey.
While still relatively new in its home province, Aritzia launched its A-OK Cafe concept back in 2018. Typically offering barista-crafted beverages and a few pastries, the frozen yogurt launch signals an expansion of its menu.

It is, perhaps, a small teaser to the broader “hospitality” chapter the company plans to unveil.
Announced in 2025, Aritzia is slated to open a 40,000-square-foot flagship store in part of the old Nordstrom retail store at Pacific Centre shopping centre in downtown Vancouver next year. The four-floor boutique will be located at the corner of Robson and Howe streets.

That new outpost will be home to a “casual-yet-elevated dining concept,” according to the company. But further details about what that concept might include have yet to be announced.
While unique for Aritzia, an in-store dining option wouldn’t be a stretch for the existing downtown retail space as Nordstrom previously had both a central bar and a restaurant within that location.
