KOTA BHARU: Parti Wawasan Negara (Wawasan) will discuss its direction for the Sarawak election with Perikatan Nasional (PN) before deciding whether to contest.
Its president, Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainuddin, said the party had members in Sarawak but would not make a decision unilaterally.
"We have members there, as does Pas. However, whether we contest or not, we should discuss it with PN rather than decide on our own.
"We will wait for the PN discussion," he told a press conference here today.
The Sarawak State Legislative Assembly will be dissolved on Oct 26 to pave the way for the 13th state election.
Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Abang Openg announced this at Kompleks Satria Pertiwi in Petra Jaya today, after an audience with Sarawak Governor Tun Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Astana Negeri.
