Presley Gerber, the son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber has died. The 27-year-old passed away at a rehab facility in Los Angeles on September 20.
Sources told TMZ that Presley’s death was the result of an overdose. At the time, the model was living with several people in a separate house on the grounds of the rehabilitation center. A family representative soon confirmed the death to TMZ and said they were asking for privacy during this “very difficult and painful time.”

Presley had previously spoken openly about his struggles with substance abuse, anxiety, and depression.
“Having struggled with mental health, depression and some other things that come along with that, I think that whether I help one person or a hundred people get out of that place that I was in at one point in my life, that's all I need to do,” he said during a 2023 chat on the Studio 22 podcast. He added of his mental health and addiction issues: “It’s a huge part of my life. It’s a 24/7 job and there’s so much to it. That’s what I really want to do: help people get out of whether you're depressed [or] struggling with something that’s having a negative effect on your body. … What I hope I can do is have made the mistakes for some other people, so they don’t have to make the same mistakes that I made.”

His sister, Kaia Gerber, praised him just weeks before to his passing for his openness about his addiction. “When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” the model and actor said in an interview.
“I think that’s also why I started to self-identify as the easy one and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing,” she added.
Kaia also called her brother her “greatest teacher” for showing her “there’s only so much you can hide from the world.”
Since news broke of Presley’s unexpected death, friends of the family have spoken out on social media to voice their sadness and pay their respects. See the tributes below.

Four weeks after her brother’s death, Kaia shared a heart-wrenching post on Instagram that opened with an old video of the two dancing as kids, and was followed by a loving, raw diary entry. “I’ve read all the books and I have none of the answers. My articulation is no match against this, the magnitude of losing you,” she began.
