Galax has launched the first GeForce RTX 5080 with two 12V-2×6 power connectors, though only one can be used at a time. The HOF Extreme also features a four-fan cooling system, a 400W power limit in OC mode, and Swarovski crystals, with a price tag of around $3,000.
Galax has launched the GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme, a premium graphics card with two 12V-2×6 power connectors, a four-fan cooler, and 13 Swarovski crystals. Priced at around $3,000 in China, the card is the world’s first known RTX 5080 with two such connectors. But here is the catch: only one connector can be used at a time.
These connectors are alternative connection points, not inputs that can be used simultaneously. One is positioned along the upper edge of the card, while the other is hidden on the opposite side. Owners can choose whichever location better suits their system’s cable routing, with a magnetic cover concealing the unused connector.
The GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme has a maximum total graphics power (TGP) of 400 W in OC mode, 40 W above Nvidia’s reference specification. Gaming mode reduces that limit to 360 W. A single 12V-2×6 connection is sufficient in either mode, and Galax recommends a power supply rated at 850 W or higher.
The GPU’s boost clock reaches 2,805 MHz in OC mode and 2,655 MHz in Gaming mode. The card has 16 GB of GDDR7 memory running at 30 Gbps over a 256-bit interface, providing 960 GB/s of memory bandwidth.
The card uses a custom white PCB with a 20+4-phase power delivery system, a digital PWM controller, HOF inductors, and eFuse protection. Other features include dual BIOS, gold-plated display outputs, and a Hyper Boost button that increases fan speeds.
Cooling is handled by three 102 mm axial fans and a fourth 92 mm fan mounted on the rear. The heatsink combines a large vapor chamber, three 8 mm and five 6 mm nickel-plated heat pipes, and a metal backplate. Galax has also added 13 Swarovski crystals across the card’s front and rear.
The GeForce RTX 5080 HOF Extreme measures 347.5 × 158 × 79.1 mm with its mounting bracket. Its display outputs comprise three DisplayPort 2.1b connectors and one HDMI 2.1b port.
According to VideoCardz, the graphics card has gone on sale in China for 19,999 yuan, equivalent to approximately $2,995. Galax has not confirmed availability in other markets.
