Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham has shared her thoughts on the 2026 WNBA Finals so far ahead of Game 4 getting under way on Saturday.
The Golden State Valkyries took a 1-0 lead in the seven-game series but the Atlanta Dream have fought back to make it 2-1.
Angel Reese has been their standout performer so far and could well secure the Finals MVP award if she keeps up her current form in the remaining ties.
Now, Cunningham has revealed that she is ‘shocked by how much Atlanta is winning by’.
In a clip from her No Hesitation Show podcast, which was shared on X/Twitter, she said: “I am shocked by how much Atlanta is winning by. They’re not just winning; they’re kicking complete a**, which is crazy because the Valkyries had one of the best defences all season long and so did Atlanta.
“So when I’m watching these games, when I’m looking at these breakdowns, yes you know Golden State, like, especially Gabby, she’s struggled; she’s taking great shots, it’s the shots she normally takes but they’re not falling.
“Sometimes that happens in basketball. That’s why you can’t always rely on your offensive ability.
“But what I’m telling you, what’s sticking out to me is Atlanta’s defence.”
Atlanta have never won the WNBA Finals but with Reese firing on all cylinders, they could be just one game away from success by the time this weekend is over.
