There is more American Horror Story in our future. A week ahead of the Season 13 finale, FX announced it has renewed Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk‘s anthology series for a 14th season.
The renewal follows AHS: 13‘s biggest streaming premiere ever. The debut episode landed on Nielsen’s Streaming Top 10 charts and repped Murphy’s biggest launch ever on Hulu and Disney+. The series returns Thursday with the 11th and 12th episodes ahead of the finale on Thursday, October 29. Episodes will be available beginning at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FX and 9 p.m. PT on Hulu.
This is the first renewal for American Horror Story in almost seven years. The anthology received a three-season pickup in January 2020 for Seasons 11, 12 and 13, leading many to think that it would be fitting for the horror show to end its run with a thirteenth season.
American Horror Story is the longest running hour-long series in FX’s history and a global phenomenon that has garnered more than 100 Emmy nominations and 17 wins since its launch in 2011, including acting trophies for Jessica Lange, Kathy Bates and James Cromwell. Throughout its run, its various installments have featured a creepy murder house, a coven of witches, a traveling freak show, a haunted hotel and the apocalypse itself.
Season 13 is a crossover event set primarily in New York City that ties together timelines and characters from across the entire franchise. The story centers on The Apollyon, a mysterious and eerie residential building in New York City connected to a portal to Hell in its basement.
Season 13 cast includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Angela Bassett, Kathy Bates, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Joey Pollari and Jessica Lange. The epic cast also features Avantika, Jamie Brewer, Elle Chapman, Berto Colon, Alex Consani, Frances Conroy, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones, Paul Anthony Kelly, John Carroll Lynch, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Fedor Steer, Mena Suvari, Zach Villa, John Waters and more.
Created and executive produced by Murphy and Falchuk, AHS: 13 is also executive produced by Ned Martel and Charlie Carver. Also serving as executive producers are Eric Kovtun, Nissa Diederich, Scott Robertson, Tanase Popa, Crystle Roberson Dorsey, Jennifer Salt and Tim Minear. The series is produced by 20th Television.
