Two days ago, we reported on how Total War: Shogun 2's Complete Edition was getting review-bombed after people discovered brand new bugs and alleged AI-upscaled assets. The backlash was so strong that the title earned an "Overwhelmingly Negative" review score, with only 19% of the reviews being positive. Total War: Shogun 2 - Complete Edition is removed from Steam for quality issues
It should be back once it's ready
As The Verge reported, Sega announced on Steam that Total War: Shogun 2 - Complete Edition was removed from the storefront just two days after its release. The game publisher cites issues with the title as its main reason, echoing what people were criticising in the reviews:
We’re aware that Total War: Shogun 2 – Complete Edition has fallen short of both your expectations and our own standards. We’ve seen your feedback, comments, and reviews. We agree that the current experience is not where it needs to be.
As a result we are working with platform holders to remove the game from sale and to reinstate the original game while we investigate the issues. Existing owners will still be able to access and play the game.
The good news is that the original version of Total War: Shogun 2 has returned to the storefront after the publisher removed it to make way for the complete edition. The bad news is that criticism for the complete edition has spilled over into Shogun 2's reviews, with people bringing the score down to "Mixed" and expressing disdain for how the company handled the remaster.
