The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has postponed its planned Contractors and Partners Chief Executive Officers’ Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Conference following the confirmation of an Ebola case in Abuja.
The conference, which was scheduled to take place in the Federal Capital Territory on October 21 and 22, 2026, was postponed as a precautionary measure amid concerns over the outbreak.
NNPCL announced the development in a notice published on its account on Wednesday.
“The NNPC Limited Contractors and Partners CEO HSE Conference, scheduled for 21–22 October 2026 in Abuja, has been postponed as a precaution following confirmation of an Ebola case in Abuja,” the company stated.
The postponement comes after the Nigerian government confirmed an Ebola case in Abuja and disclosed that 44 close contacts had been identified.
The decision reflects precautionary measures being taken in response to the reported case, although NNPCL did not announce a new date for the conference in its notice.
