The ruling United Party for National Development (UPND) says President Hakainde Hichilema’s speech during the official opening of the first session of the 14th National Assembly spelled out clear intent by Government to reduce the cost of living.
UPND Media Director, Mark Simuuwe says the President laid out a blueprint for citizens to be involved in the development agenda of the country.
Mr Simuuwe said there are numerous opportunities that give citizens a platform to improve their livelihood while contributing to the Grow Zambia Agenda, describing the Head of State’s plan as inclusive.
Meanwhile, New Nation Party Acting President, Reuben Samboh says the targets set out by President Hichilema present an opportunity for the private sector to contribute effectively.
And Rev Samboh says the 7 percent economic growth target that Zambia is aiming to attain in three years’ time is realistic.
The opposition leader however called on the Government to instead set a target of 10 percent.
Meanwhile, Rev Samboh urged the private sector to take advantage of the Grow Zambia Agenda, describing President Hichilema’s targets as inclusive.
On Friday, President Hichilema officially opened the first session of the 14th National Assembly, making different pronouncements in various sectors.
