Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has taken to social media to announce the death of her mother alongside a tribute.
The 50-year-old film star, who was born in Queens, New York, to a German-Irish mother and a Yoruba Nigerian father, revealed via her Instagram page on Monday, October 19th, that her mum died after a prolonged illness.
“With a heavy heart and submission to the will of Almighty Allah, I announce the passing of my beloved mother, who returned to her Creator on October 18 after a long battle with illness,” she wrote.
“Ya Allah, forgive her shortcomings, have mercy upon her, make her grave spacious and filled with light, and grant her Al-Jannah Firdaus. Grant us sabr and strength as we navigate this painful loss. Ameen,” she said.
“Mum, I love you. May Allah grant you eternal peace and reunite us in Jannah. Ameen.”
Ade stated that the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.
