Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, has accused European countries of seeking to prolong the war in Ukraine.
Speaking at a press briefing on Wednesday, October 14, Peskov said that, unlike the United States, Europe was pursuing the continuation of hostilities rather than seeking a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine.
He added that European countries were taking a different approach and making every effort to prolong the conflict.
Peskov also raised the possibility that European countries could obstruct efforts to reach an agreement to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
His remarks come as efforts to find a political solution and end the war in Ukraine remain a key issue in relations between Russia, Europe and the United States.
