Kate Middleton is looking forward to Prince George returning home from Eton College for school break after admitting she’s missed her eldest son.
The Princess of Wales made the confession on Thursday during a visit to a shopping center in Hoveton, England, for her role as a patron of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH), per Hello!
“She said she’s looking forward to George coming home, she’s missed him,” one shopper told the outlet, noting that Middleton, her husband, Prince William, and their three kids “may be going somewhere” during the school break.
When a young child in attendance told the royal it was his last day of school before the half-term break, Middleton reportedly replied, “My children break up tomorrow and I can’t wait to have them all home.”
As Page Six previously reported, William and Middleton dropped George off for his first day at Eton College on Sept. 8.
In photos from the milestone day, the proud parents walked alongside the 13-year-old on their way into William’s alma mater in Berkshire, England.
Simon Henderson, the headmaster of the school, and Sir Nicholas Coleridge, the provost of Eton and the chair of the governing body, welcomed the royal family to the school.
William attended the boarding school from 1995 to 2000. His estranged brother, Prince Harry, also attended the prestigious school from 1998 to 2003.
As for William and Middleton’s youngest children, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, they currently attend day school at the Lambrook School in Berkshire, near Ascot.
On June 16, the couple confirmed to Page Six via a Kensington Palace spokesperson that George would attend Eton College, following in his father’s footsteps.
Following news of his school choice, royal commentator Kinsey Schofield told Page Six that George’s “biggest challenge” will be managing to maintain his privacy amongst his classmates.
“The biggest challenge won’t be academics or making friends. It’ll be balancing Prince George’s privacy with the reality that every classmate has TikTok,” she explained.
Schofield noted that William and Harry attended the school “before social media transformed adolescence.”
She added, “George won’t have that luxury.”
“It’s protecting his privacy in an age where something can go viral in seconds.”
