Lim Kwang-hyun, the newly appointed presidential chief of staff, said on the 14th that his mission is to build on the Lee Jae-myung administration's record and deliver changes that people can feel in their daily lives.
Lim made the remarks at the Chunchugwan press center at the Blue House on the afternoon of the same day, shortly after the announcement of the appointment. "I have always carried a sense of duty to serve the public since entering public service in 1995, but now that I have taken on the role of chief of staff, the responsibility feels heavier than ever," Lim said. "I offer my sincere gratitude and respect to former chief of staff Kang Hoon-sik, who successfully carried out the weighty tasks of overcoming the insurrection and reviving the economy in the early stage of this administration."
"Over the past year, this government of popular sovereignty has moved without pause, together with the people, to restore South Korea to normal," Lim said. "We have produced meaningful results with the people, and we are walking the path of a great transition with them."
Lim pledged to devote his full efforts to results that improve livelihoods. "As the top official assisting the president, I will take responsibility for the full scope of operations at the presidential office and commit all my energy to delivering results for people's livelihoods," he said. "Every day is pressing for the public, so every day at the presidential office must be pressing as well. I will do everything in my power to change the hard days that people are living through."
