NPF Mon Town leaders review development works

Mon, October 11 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) 46th Mon Town Assembly Constituency held a coordination meeting on October 10 at the party office in Mon Town, reviewing development activities and calling for continued unity among party workers ahead of the next election. The meeting was attended by representatives of the constituency’s general body, youth, women’s and farmers’ wings, division representatives, central office bearers and polling station office bearers.According to a press release, Tingtong, a Central Office Bearer (COB) member, highlighted development works undertaken under the leadership of MLA Y Mankhao Konyak. He stated that although the MLA did not hold any departmental portfolio, he had initiated several development works in the constituency. Tingtong called for continued unity among party workers and unwavering support for Mankhao Konyak in the next election under the leadership of Dr Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister and NPF president.Wangtem Konyak, vice president of the NPF Mon Division, appreciated party workers for their “sacrifices and tireless support” since the MLA’s candidature and his subsequent election to the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.Temtok, advisor to the 46th Assembly Constituency NPF, urged party workers to remain vigilant and deliver “action oriented service.”The meeting was chaired by Peihwang Konyak, vice president of the 46th Assembly Constituency, while its president, S Yeanglong Konyak, welcomed the participants and called for open discussions on issues concerning the constituency’s development and progress.In his concluding remarks, Yeanglong expressed appreciation to the MLA for providing ex-gratia relief to victims of natural calamities across the constituency during the summer of 2026. He also listed road improvement works in Mon Town and villages, construction of sports infrastructure, development of a recreational park, repairs and renovation of educational institutions, and construction of hostels for tribal girls and working women among the development activities undertaken through the MLA’s initiatives.Yeanglong urged the MLA to continue the works, stating that the people of the 46th Mon Town Assembly Constituency were confident of extending greater support.
