The Serbian democracy watchdog NGO CRTA warned of possible irregularities in the voter register after residents in the northern border city of Subotica and other places reported receiving voter notices for people they did not know and who do not live at their addresses.
Residents of a building at 2A Petefi Sandor Street in Subotica said notices had been delivered for unknown individuals, with the address details listing floor zero and apartment zero, neither of which exists in the building. The local news portal Maglocistac was contacted by dozens of people after calling local residents to report similar cases.
CRTA advised property owners to contact the police if they suspect people are falsely registered at their addresses. It also urged citizens to preserve voting notices and avoid publishing the names on social media because they constitute personal data.
