Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Two initiatives aimed at preserving Uzbekistan’s cultural heritage and improving access to education were announced in the capital. The HAYOT Foundation CSR platform unveiled til.uz, a free digital portal dedicated to the Uzbek language, and organised the handover of two school minibuses for students from remote communities.
A new digital resource for learning Uzbek
The til.uz portal was created to organise and promote resources related to the Uzbek language, its cultural heritage and regional diversity. The platform brings together dictionaries, Uzbek folklore materials and information about dialects.
Registration is not required to access the main resources. Users can also convert text between the Latin and Cyrillic scripts and use a search function that accounts for possible spelling errors.
The portal is intended for school pupils, university students, teachers, journalists, researchers and anyone who uses Uzbek in everyday life or professional activities.
The project is being implemented by the HAYOT Foundation CSR platform, part of the Renaissance National Centre for Supporting and Developing Initiatives, with support from Gross Insurance and the National Media Association of Uzbekistan.
Centrum Air serves as the project’s official carrier, supporting trips by dialectology specialists to regions across the country to collect and study linguistic material.
Tilmoch is the technical partner, while information support is provided by the Media Content Preparation Centre under the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan.
To mark the portal’s launch, Ilkhom Theatre staged Qadrdon til / Dear Language, a production dedicated to native language and preserving connections between generations. The performance was directed by Alexander Plotnikov and staged only once, on the day of the platform’s presentation.
The developers plan to expand the portal’s language resources and functionality and introduce a section dedicated to artificial intelligence developments for the Uzbek language.
The project is being developed under the Madaniy Hayot initiative of the HAYOT Foundation platform.
School minibuses for two regions
Two additional school minibuses were handed over in Tashkent on the same day as part of the Maktabga Xavfsiz Harakat (Safe Journey to School) project. The initiative aims to provide safe transport for children living in remote communities.
The minibuses, provided with support from Gross Insurance and Orient Finans Bank, are intended for two educational institutions:
- School No. 38 in the Akhangaran district of Tashkent Region.
- School No. 36 in the Romitan district of Bukhara Region.
With the latest handover, the project’s fleet has grown to six minibuses. The first four vehicles, delivered during the initial phase, are already being used to transport schoolchildren daily.
Like the vehicles provided in the first phase, the new minibuses are equipped with GPS trackers supplied with support from technology partner UZGPS. The system enables operators to monitor vehicle locations and movements along their routes.
The first phase of the project began on 24 April 2026, when four minibuses were handed over. Three of them were purchased with support from Kapitalbank. The Republican Centre Kelajak is also participating in the initiative.
The organisers say regular school transport is particularly important for children who must travel long distances to reach their educational institutions. Organised transport helps make journeys to and from school more convenient and safer for pupils and their families.
Maktabga Xavfsiz Harakat is being developed under the Inson Hayoti initiative of the HAYOT Foundation CSR platform.
Social initiatives in culture and education
The launch of til.uz and the expansion of the school transport project represent two areas of HAYOT Foundation’s work: preserving linguistic and cultural heritage while helping improve access to education.
Both initiatives are being implemented with the participation of businesses and relevant organisations.
The language portal focuses on digitising linguistic resources, studying dialects and preserving cultural continuity. The school transport project, meanwhile, aims to improve transport infrastructure for children in remote communities.
Further development plans include adding new materials to the digital portal and expanding the reach of school transport services under Maktabga Xavfsiz Harakat.
