Anthony Davis made a huge splash in his debut with the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night, recording 34 points and 12 rebounds in a 128-116 win over the Milwaukee Bucks.
While Davis was happy with the win, he admitted that he wished there were more Washington fans in the crowd at Capitol One Arena.
“If we're being honest, I’d like it to be a little more packed in there. But the crowd was great, they were into it, got us over the hump," Davis said when speaking to reporters postgame. "Even when I was here last year, very first home game. It was like ‘Dress Like a Seat Night’ in here.”
Davis landed in Washington as part of a blockbuster trade with the Dallas Mavericks midway through the 2025-26 NBA season. He was then shut down for the remainder of the year, prioritizing his long-term health as he dealt with various injury issues.

Point guard Trae Young helped Davis lead the team to victory in their season opener, scoring 20 points and dishing out 13 assists.
The Wizards now turn their attention toward their next matchup against the Toronto Raptors on Friday night.
